Migrant voters who came on holidays are angry with BJP; Akhilesh's big attack on changing the date

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has given a sharp statement on the sudden change in the date of by-elections for 9 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. The Election Commission has now postponed the voting, which was earlier scheduled for November 13, to November 20. Akhilesh Yadav alleges that the BJP put pressure to extend the date of the election so that the migrant voters who came for the festivals return without casting their votes. Regarding this strategy of the BJP, he said on social media, "If we postpone, we will lose even worse." Earlier, the BJP had demanded the Election Commission to extend the election date due to Kartik Purnima.

Migrant voters who came on holidays are angry with BJP; Akhilesh's big attack on changing the date

INDC Network: Uttar Pradesh: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the BJP over the change in the date of the by-elections proposed on November 13 on 9 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. The Election Commission has now extended the date of voting to November 20, while the counting of votes will take place on November 23 as before. Akhilesh Yadav says that the BJP got the date changed by pressurizing the Election Commission so that the migrant voters who had come home for the holidays could return and could not vote against the BJP.

Akhilesh Yadav wrote on social media on this issue, "If we postpone, we will lose even worse!" He accused the BJP of feeling the fear of losing the election and that is why it tried to change the dates. Akhilesh claims that due to Diwali and Chhath holidays, people suffering from unemployment in Uttar Pradesh have returned to their homes and their intention was to vote against the BJP.

The explanation given by the BJP behind the decision of the Election Commission to change the date is that there is a religious gathering at many places on November 15 due to Kartik Purnima. The BJP delegation had submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission requesting to hold the voting on November 20 instead of November 13, which was accepted by the Election Commission.
