Expansion of SCR in 5 districts including Lucknow: Future will be decided by 7 mantras, know in which areas change will come
The Uttar Pradesh government has planned to form a State Capital Region (SCR) on the lines of NCR. Comprising 5 districts including Lucknow, the objective of SCR is based on seven main mantras of development: economic development, social welfare, health, education, housing, transport, and regional conservation. Spread over an area of 26,741.25 square kilometers, this SCR aims to develop infrastructure, increase employment opportunities, expand transport facilities and social reform. INDC Network: Uttar Pradesh: On the lines of NCR, a plan has been made to form State Capital Region (SCR) in Lucknow and its surrounding 5 districts in Uttar Pradesh. Preparations are being made to equip these areas with modern facilities by including Lucknow, Unnao, Hardoi, Sitapur, Rae Bareli and Barabanki in SCR. Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Manoj Kumar Singh said that the aim of the project is to accelerate regional development and bring economic, social, and cultural improvement in the state. For this, focus has been laid on seven main points, which will give a new direction to this region.
7 main points of SCR that will change the future of districts

Economic Development :
Under SCR, economic development will be given priority in these districts. The project aims to increase employment opportunities and infrastructure development in the private and public sectors. Along with this, efforts will be made to increase regional growth and revenue, which will also attract investment in the region and enhance the quality of life of the residents. -
Social Welfare :
There are plans to bring about extensive reforms in the field of social welfare through SCR. Efforts will be made to improve the lives of people by expanding health, education, housing, and other facilities, which will strengthen the economic and social stability of the SCR region. -
Expansion of health facilities :
Under SCR, the goal is to upgrade health services. Availability of health services with modern medical facilities will be ensured so that people of the area can avail better health services. This will not only improve public health but will also increase public productivity. -
Improvement in education :

- Hardoi : 5986 Square Kilometers
- Sitapur : 5743 Square Kilometers
- Unnao : 4557 Square Kilometers
- Raebareli : 4073.63 Square Kilometers
- Barabanki : 3853.117 Square Kilometers
Global Tender and Future Plans
According to Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, the process of selecting a consultant for the SCR project is in its final stages. As soon as the global tender is completed, the construction work of the scheme will be started. The aim of this huge project is that the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow and its surrounding districts develop like NCR and the people living in it can avail the benefits of high level infrastructure and facilities.
