SP and CPI(M) in contact with Congress
In this alliance discussion, Samajwadi Party (SP) and Marxist Communist Party (CPI-M) have also contacted Congress. Both these parties want to mark their presence in Haryana and have discussed the possibility of alliance with Congress. Deepak Babaria said that SP and CPI-M have expressed hope of very few seats, so that they can make their mark in the state. He also said that Congress is looking for such seats which are convenient for them and Congress.
This development has made it clear that the Congress is trying to form a broad alliance in Haryana, which may include various regional and national parties. This will not only create a strong front against the BJP, but this alliance can also create new political equations in the state.
Rahul Gandhi and the possibilities of alliance
According to sources, Rahul Gandhi had sought the opinion of Haryana Congress members on a possible alliance with AAP in the Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting on Monday. This shows that this alliance is being seriously considered even at the high level of the Congress. This initiative of Rahul Gandhi has also raised hopes among Congress workers that through the alliance, a tough fight can be given to the BJP.
Sanjay Singh, a senior AAP leader, also welcomed reports that Rahul Gandhi has sought the opinion of Congress leaders on a possible alliance between the two parties in the upcoming assembly elections in Haryana. However, he clarified that the final decision will be taken only after consulting Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. This also shows that serious thoughts are going on within the AAP about the alliance, and instructions from the party leadership are awaited.
Manish Sisodia's statement and BJP's protest
Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also gave his opinion on this issue. He said that the main objective of AAP is to oust the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from power. Sisodia claimed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will soon come out of jail, after which a final decision will be taken on the alliance and the party's role in the elections. Arvind Kejriwal is currently lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail in connection with the liquor scam, but Sisodia's statement is an indication that AAP is fully prepared for an alliance to oust the BJP from power.
