The Armed Forces Festival organised by Surya Command began at Lucknow Cantonment on September 3, showcasing India's advanced military technology and capabilities. The three-day event, inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, featured live demonstrations by the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, military equipment exhibition and interactive displays, and was attended by over 8,000 participants, including students, NCC cadets and local citizens.

INDC Network : Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh : The Armed Forces Mahotsav organised by Surya Command began on 3 September at the Surya Sports Complex in Lucknow Cantonment, which was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Thousands of people, including students from various schools and colleges, NCC cadets and citizens of Lucknow, attended the three-day event. The event, which ran from September 3 to 5, was attended by over 8,000 attendees of all age groups. The event showcased the latest technology-driven capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces.

The highlight of the festival was the exhibition of India's latest military equipment, developed as part of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'. Notable exhibits included models of T-90 tank (Indian Army's main battle tank), K-9 Vajra self-propelled gun, Weapon Locating Radar (WLR) Swati, Sarvatra bridge system, counter IED equipment, and ALH and LCH Prachand helicopters. Live demonstrations included para drop and combat demonstrations by special forces, evacuation of troops by helicopters, para motors and microlight flying, and horse and dog shows, which were highly engaging for the spectators.

Martial tunes played by the Indian Navy Band and various stalls and displays on display at the Naval Pavilion added to the fun of the event showcasing three dimensional naval capabilities, self-reliance and recent innovations. The stalls displayed naval history, models of ships, submarines and aircraft, diving equipment and career opportunities in the Navy. Informational counters were also set up for veterans, providing resources, support and networking opportunities.

Meanwhile, the flypast by Jaguar fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force was watched with great interest by the spectators. The Air Force stall had interactive exhibits, advanced aircraft models, simulation displays and information panels, highlighting the achievements, missions and future plans of the Air Force. The Air Force also showcased its state-of-the-art 'Intelligent Promotional Exhibition Vehicle' (IPEV), whose coordinated display of flight simulator and weapon drill attracted the audience, especially the youth.

Chief guest Yogi Adityanath praised the armed forces and especially the Surya Command for organising this mega event. He urged the students and NCC cadets to take inspiration from the armed forces and expressed confidence that our technologically advanced armed forces are capable of facing any challenge and ensuring the security of the country. On the occasion, Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, GOC-in-C Central Command presented a memento to the UP CM. Later, Yogi Adityanath also visited the exhibits displayed by the three services, NCC, Recruitment and Rehabilitation Organisation.
