He is also a trustee of the Sir Ratan Tata and Sir Dorabji Tata Trusts, which hold about 52% stake in Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group.
Noel Tata is the son of Naval H. Tata and Simone N. Tata. His father is Naval Tata and Ratan Tata's father is Naval Tata, although their mothers are different. Due to this family connection, Noel is being considered a strong candidate to lead the Tata Trusts, especially after Ratan Tata did not name a successor.
Noel Tata's role in Tata Group: Noel Tata has been associated with the Tata Group for the last four decades and has contributed in several key roles. He is the Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Tata International Limited, the trading and distribution arm of the group.
