INDC Network : Uttar Pradesh : New details continue to emerge regarding the Maharaj Ganj violence case in Bahraich, with Mahsi MLA Sureshvar Singh making explosive claims. In a press conference at his residence in Qazipura, Singh labeled the violence as a pre-planned attack and offered a chilling timeline of events. According to him, tensions had been simmering since Ganesh Puja, when objections were raised over a DJ song.
He disclosed that the main accused, Abdul Hameed, along with his associates, had prepared for violence. A young boy named Golu Mishra, allegedly connected to Hameed, was seen cleaning guns and drying cartridges before the incident. Singh revealed that they planned to open fire if the song, containing the phrase "Pakistan Murdabad", was played again. The MLA insisted that no Indian should have an issue with such a song, as it was in a patriotic context.

Responding to allegations by Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party chief, Singh strongly refuted claims that BJP officials were involved in instigating the violence. Yadav had alleged that the FIR implicated BJP leaders, but Singh described this as a political stunt aimed at winning votes. He accused Yadav of attempting to turn the victim’s funeral into a political statement by keeping the body on the ground and instigating further tensions.
On the matter of the MLA's car being fired upon, Singh noted that some elements in the crowd could have been opposition supporters, or people under the influence of alcohol. The crowd demanded justice for Gopal Mishra, one of the victims, asking for an immediate encounter of the culprits, but Singh pointed out that such actions were unconstitutional.
Singh also commented on a sting operation conducted by a media organization, where two individuals discussed a supposed 2-hour break in the violence. He dismissed the video as unreliable, suggesting that the men involved were intoxicated and their statements couldn't be trusted.
The MLA further condemned the local police, specifically criticizing the LIO (Local Intelligence Officer) and the Mahsi police post for their failure to prevent the violence. He called for a thorough investigation and accountability from those responsible for law enforcement in the area.
