Statement of SP MP Dharmendra Yadav
SP MP from Azamgarh Dharmendra Yadav said during the by-election voting that the election result will be 100% in favor of the Samajwadi Party. Targeting the BJP, he said that the Election Commission should take action against the officers and employees who have supported the BJP. He also appealed to the voters that if they fail once, they should try again and not lose courage.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also appealed to the voters to vote without fear. He said that the voters who have been stopped from casting their votes by the administration should go to the polling booth again. He talked about taking legal action against the dishonest officials of the administration and police and said that video evidence is being collected against them.

SP accuses of booth capturing
In Mainpuri's Karhal assembly, SP has accused BJP workers of booth capturing. SP wrote on X, "Polling has been dumped by BJP at the booths of Makrandpur, Chittarpur, Audney Padriya, Bichhiya and Nagla Jula." SP has demanded the Election Commission to take cognizance of the matter and ensure fair voting.
Tension in Muslim majority areas
After Kundarki and Mirapur, now Muslim voters of Katehari have alleged that they are being prevented from casting their votes. Regarding this, SP wrote on X, "In Katehari, voters in Muslim dominated areas are being threatened and voting is being influenced by the police."

According to Election Commission data till 11 am, a total of 20.51% polling was recorded in the nine assembly constituencies.

Position of Congress and BSP
Congress has kept itself out of the electoral race by supporting SP in this by-election. On the other hand, BSP has decided to contest all the nine seats alone.
The battle for political messaging
The results of the bypolls will not directly change the situation in the assembly but it will send an important political message to the ruling BJP and main opposition Samajwadi Party.
