Akhilesh attacks BJP over violence in Sambhal and stopping of leaders
Questions were raised on the BJP government for stopping the movement of Congress and SP leaders in the Sambhal violence case. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were stopped from going to Sambhal, while the jailor was suspended for allowing the meeting of SP leaders. Akhilesh Yadav called it injustice and targeted the BJP government.

Prevention of Congress leaders
After the violence in Sambhal on November 24, many Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi were going to Sambhal to meet the victims. However, the Magar Police-Administration stopped them at the Ghazipur border . After this the leaders had to return back to Delhi.
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav's statement
Targeting the BJP government, Akhilesh Yadav said that it is unfair to stop Rahul Gandhi from going to Sambhal. he said,
"When the government commits injustice, our difficulty will be whether to allow the House to run or not. The government should take action against the culprits."
Case of suspension of jailer
Some accused of Sambhal violence are lodged in Moradabad Jail . Some SP leaders met him. It is alleged that the jailer and deputy jailer violated the rules and made this meeting. On this, the government suspended the jailer and deputy jailer.
Background: Cause of moderate violence
The dispute over the Sambhal Jama Masjid started when the Hindu side claimed in court that it was a Hindu temple , which was demolished during the Mughal period. The court ordered a survey of the mosque. Violence broke out
in Sambhal during the survey on November 24 , in which 4 people were killed and a Deputy SP was injured.
