AAP announces to fight alone in Delhi elections

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Coordinator Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced that his party will contest the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections alone. He ruled out any possibility of an alliance with the Congress.

Arvind Kejriwal's statement on alliance with Congress

Arvind Kejriwal wrote on X (formerly Twitter),
"Aam Aadmi Party will contest on its own in Delhi. No chance of alliance with Congress."
This statement came at a time when reports claimed that discussions were going on about seat sharing in the opposition alliance 'INDIA'.

Second list of AAP candidates released

The Aam Aadmi Party has released its second list of candidates for the Delhi elections. This list includes 20 names.

List of Candidates:

Seat Candidate's Name Old position

Patparganj Awadh Ojha New candidate
Total 17 seats New faces The current MLAs were removed

AAP has dropped its 17 sitting MLAs and given way to new candidates.

Sourness between Congress and AAP

Delhi State Congress Committee President Devendra Yadav recently attacked AAP and Arvind Kejriwal, saying that Aam Aadmi Party is responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi. He demanded the resignation of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi from Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Last election results in Delhi

In the last Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party won 62 out of 70 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) captured 8 seats. The performance of Congress was extremely poor and the party could not win a single seat.

Crime and Law and Order in Delhi

Devendra Yadav expressed concern over rising crime in Delhi such as murders, gang wars, rapes and molestations.
