India will soon sign Rafale jet and Scorpene submarine deal: Navy chief
India will finalise the deal for 26 Rafale-M fighter jets and 3 Scorpene submarines by January 2025. Along with this, 62 warships are under construction. The Navy is keeping a close watch on the activities of external forces in the Indian Ocean.

India plans to sign a deal with France for 26 new Rafale-M fighter jets and three Scorpene class submarines by January 2025. This deal will further strengthen the combat capabilities of the Indian Navy. Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi informed about this on Monday.
Emphasis on indigenous manufacturing: 62 warships under construction
Admiral Tripathi said that 62 warships and one diesel-electric submarine are under construction at various shipyards in India. Apart from this, the government has also approved the construction of two nuclear-powered submarines. This move will further strengthen the Indian Navy's Atmanirbhar India mission.

Increased vigilance in Indian Ocean
In a press conference held before the Navy Day, the Navy Chief said that the Indian Navy is closely monitoring the activities of extra-territorial forces in the Indian Ocean region. He said that the navy is also keeping an eye on Chinese naval units and Pakistani warships.

Admiral Tripathi said that the priority of the Indian Navy is to ensure the country's maritime security and promote indigenous manufacturing. Regarding Chinese and Pakistani cooperation, he said that the Indian Navy is working with full vigilance.
