As the train passed through Kamalpur station in Bulandshahr, a sudden impact shattered the window just two seats ahead of him, leaving the passengers shocked and alarmed. Azad, who was traveling from Delhi to Kanpur, immediately took to social media to describe the incident, noting his dismay at the lack of safety measures.
Azad recounted the harrowing details, explaining, "This morning, around 7:12 AM, as the train passed Kamalpur station, some miscreant threw stones at the train. The impact shattered the glass near my seat, endangering passengers and causing substantial damage to government property." Expressing frustration and concern, he called for immediate action by the Railway Ministry and law enforcement, labeling such incidents as a threat not only to passengers but to the country’s reputation as well.
The MP highlighted the alarming rise in stone-pelting cases, sharing a report indicating that over 1,500 similar incidents occurred in 2022, leading to significant financial losses and safety risks.
