Congress's political game: Preparations for UP by-elections in the hope of support from SP
In the by-elections of Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party (SP) has announced to contest on all 9 seats on its election symbol 'cycle'. Akhilesh Yadav has shared the information that the candidates of 'India alliance' will contest on the symbol of SP. However, some doubts remain regarding the role of Congress and seat sharing.

INDC Network: Uttar Pradesh: A big decision of SP has come out in the by-elections of Uttar Pradesh. Party president Akhilesh Yadav announced on Wednesday night that his party will contest on all 9 seats. He said on his official X account that all the candidates of 'India Alliance' will contest on SP's election symbol 'cycle'. With this announcement, the suspense regarding alliance and seat sharing between SP and Congress has ended.
SP-Congress alliance: Is there disagreement?
However, Congress state president Ajay Rai told Dainik Bhaskar that he had no information about this seat sharing. Actually, Congress was not interested in the seats that Akhilesh wanted to give to them because it was difficult to win from there. Due to this, Congress claimed the Phulpur seat of Prayagraj, but consensus could not be reached till the last moment.
Akhilesh declares: "It is about victory, not seats"
Akhilesh Yadav said, "It is not about seats but about victory. Under this strategy, the joint candidates of the 'India alliance' will contest on all 9 seats on the SP symbol of 'cycle'." He said that Congress and SP are standing together for a big victory. Akhilesh expressed confidence that the India alliance will write a new chapter of victory in this by-election.
He also said that the strength of SP has increased manifold due to the unity of workers from the top leadership of the Congress party to the booth level. He believes that this election is to save the constitution, harmony and honour of the PDA.

Role of Rahul Gandhi
An important phone call took place between Akhilesh and Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday night, in which Rahul promised not to contest the by-elections and give full support to the SP. Akhilesh also thanked Rahul for this cooperation. Ajay Rai said that he had no information on this issue, as a Congress meeting was scheduled in Delhi, but senior leaders could not reach there due to Priyanka Gandhi's nomination. Now, the Congress will clarify its position after holding a meeting on Thursday.
The top leadership of Congress is not taking much interest in the by-elections and their focus is on Maharashtra and Jharkhand elections. After a long discussion between Rahul and Akhilesh, Rahul decided not to contest the by-elections. SP will declare its candidates on the remaining 3 seats today on Thursday. Earlier, SP has declared candidates on 6 seats. Congress had announced election in-charges on all the vacant seats for the by-elections. They had earlier demanded to contest on 5 seats, but SP had agreed to give 2 seats. These seats were Khair of Aligarh and Sadar of Ghaziabad, but due to political equations, Congress' victory on these seats was not easy. In Haryana, there was no agreement on seat sharing between SP-Congress, due to which SP did not contest the elections there. Now, Congress is not fielding its candidates in UP.
BJP's electoral outlook
At the same time, BJP has not yet declared a candidate for any seat, while only 2 days are left for the nomination for the by-election. There is a hitch in the selection of BJP candidate, and Deputy CM Keshav Maurya and Brajesh Pathak are discussing this issue in Delhi.
