IPL 2025 retention list: Which players became part of the team, who were left out?

INDC Network: Cricket:  Ahead of the mega auction of IPL 2025, all 10 franchises released their retention list on Thursday, in which many changes have been seen this year. Some teams said goodbye to their long-time players, while some retained their main players. This year many star players have been retained for a big amount, which makes it clear that all the franchises want to move forward with their main players. Mumbai Indians have retained their star players Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Jaspreet Bumrah and young player Tilak Verma. The special thing is that Jaspreet Bumrah has been retained for a huge amount of 18 crores, making him the most expensive player of the team. Hardik and Suryakumar have been retained for 16.35 crores and Rohit for 16.30 crores. It is clear from this strategy of Mumbai that the team wants to rely only on its experienced players.

Kolkata Knight Riders have retained Rinku Singh, Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Harshit Rana and Ramandeep Singh. Rinku has been retained in the team for 13 crores and Varun and Sunil Narine for 12 crores. This list of Kolkata shows that the team is focusing on maintaining balance and keeping its foreign and domestic players together.

Chennai Super Kings have retained Rituraj Gaikwad, Mathisha Pathirana, Shivam Dubey, Ravindra Jadeja and captain MS Dhoni in the team this time. Jadeja and Rituraj have been retained for 18 crores, which shows a big strategic decision for the team. Retaining captain Dhoni for 4 crores is a matter of joy for Chennai fans.

Delhi Capitals have released captain Rishabh Pant from the team, which is a big blow for their fans. Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Tristan Stubbs and Abhishek Porel have been retained in the team. Axar has been retained for Rs 16.50 crore.

Lucknow Super Giants have retained Nicholas Pooran, Ravi Bishnoi, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan and Ayush Badoni. However, captain KL Rahul has been shown the way out of the team, which is a big decision for the franchise.

Rajasthan Royals have retained Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel and Sandeep Sharma in the team. Sanju and Yashasvi have been retained for 18 crores, which reflects the new strategy of the team.

Sunrisers Hyderabad's team includes Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar, Heinrich Klaasen and Travis Head. Retaining Heinrich for Rs 23 crore is a big bet for Hyderabad.

Gujarat Titans have retained Rashid Khan, Shubman Gill, Sai Sudarshan, Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan in the team. Rashid has been retained for 18 crores and Shubman Gill for 16.5 crores, which shows the stability and experience of the team.
