Uttar Pradesh in the grip of cold and fog
Half of the month of November has passed, and the effect of cold is increasing in the entire North India including Uttar Pradesh. Major cities like Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut are seen covered in a blanket of fog. The lack of visibility in the morning has affected people's daily routine. The cold is becoming more intense in rural areas, and the minimum temperature has reached 12 degrees Celsius.
Weather forecast: cold may drop further
The Meteorological Department has predicted fog and dry weather in various areas of Uttar Pradesh between November 18 and 21. The weather will remain cold and foggy on November 22 and 23 as well. The effect of possible snowfall in the mountainous areas may further increase the cold in the plains.

Poor air quality remains a matter of concern
Along with cold and fog, the air quality is also deteriorating rapidly. In cities like Ghaziabad (390 AQI), Noida (359 AQI), Meerut (312 AQI), and Lucknow (298 AQI), the air quality has reached dangerous levels. The increasing amount of carbon monoxide and dust particles in the toxic air is a serious threat to health.
