BJP Calls for 'Bulldozing Mafia' in Jharkhand: Yogi and Modi Intensify Attack on JMM-led Coalition

In a high-energy election campaign for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have sharply criticized the ruling JMM-led coalition. Accusing the coalition of fostering corruption, criminal networks, and illegal land and mining activities, Adityanath urged voters to support the BJP to "bulldoze" mafia elements. Modi reinforced these statements, claiming that only the BJP can ensure security, women’s empowerment, and pride in Jharkhand. The elections, set for November 13 and 20, 2024, have set the stage for a heated battle over Jharkhand’s future.

BJP Promises a Clean Sweep Against Mafia in Jharkhand

With Jharkhand’s Assembly elections fast approaching, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held nothing back in his criticism of the ruling JMM-led coalition. Addressing a rally in Koderma, he accused the current coalition of not only tolerating but actively “patronising” mafia groups. According to Adityanath, Jharkhand’s resources — spanning sectors like land, sand, forest, mining, and liquor — are being exploited under the coalition’s watch.

Calling for a similar “bulldozer” approach as seen in UP, Adityanath asserted that only the BJP can crack down on the unchecked mafia activities plaguing Jharkhand. He pointed to the strong actions taken by his administration against mafia networks in UP as a model for Jharkhand, emphasizing BJP’s commitment to restoring law and order.

Yogi Adityanath's Appeal: 'Only BJP Can Bulldoze Jharkhand's Mafia'

In an assertive speech that captured the crowd's attention, Adityanath argued that Jharkhand deserves a government that prioritizes safety and security for its citizens. He appealed to voters to bring the BJP to power, stating, “Like UP, bring the BJP to power in Jharkhand to bulldoze mafia.” This comment resonated strongly, drawing on Adityanath’s reputation in UP for cracking down on illegal networks and earning him the nickname “Bulldozer Baba.”

The UP Chief Minister also drew historical parallels, comparing the JMM-led government’s alleged looting to that of Emperor Aurangzeb. He accused the coalition’s ministers, particularly mentioning Alamgir Alam, of exploiting Jharkhand’s people in a way reminiscent of foreign invaders who “destroyed temples and looted wealth.” This evocative comparison underscored Adityanath’s point that the JMM coalition is misusing its power at the cost of the common people.

Modi’s Rally at Garhwa: Accusations of Vote-Bank Politics

Reinforcing Adityanath’s statements, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the stage at a rally in Garhwa, where he criticized the JMM-led coalition for its alleged vote-bank politics. Modi accused the coalition of aiding infiltrators to secure votes, warning that this approach jeopardizes Jharkhand’s integrity and security. According to Modi, only the BJP can safeguard the state's borders and uphold the pride of its people.

He assured voters that a BJP government in Jharkhand would prioritize the empowerment of women and youth, and foster a safe environment for all. Emphasizing the BJP’s national security stance, Modi presented his party as the only one that could guarantee safety, job creation, and genuine development for the state.

Controversy Around the Ram Temple and Religious Pride

Both Adityanath and Modi didn’t shy away from discussing the highly emotive Ram Temple issue. Adityanath accused Congress of obstructing the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya for years. He credited BJP’s strong leadership with finally paving the way for Ram Lala to be seated in his rightful place after 500 years.

Referring to the recent consecration of the temple, Adityanath suggested that this historical milestone also paves the way for the reclamation of other significant temples, including those in Mathura. The temple, he argued, is a symbol of BJP’s dedication to cultural pride and religious heritage, contrasting it sharply with the JMM-led coalition’s alleged neglect of these values.

A High-Stakes Election on November 13 and 20

The stakes for the Jharkhand Assembly elections could not be higher. Voters will head to the polls on November 13 and 20, 2024, with results expected on November 23. The BJP’s campaign, with leaders like Yogi Adityanath and Narendra Modi taking strong stances, promises a clash of ideologies with the JMM-led coalition. Issues of corruption, security, economic stability, and cultural pride will be central to voters’ decisions, as the BJP positions itself as the only party capable of restoring order and pride to Jharkhand.

With these powerful appeals from BJP’s senior leaders, the state is bracing for a fierce electoral battle that could redefine its future.
