This historic innings of Rajat Patidar broke the old Madhya Pradesh record of Naman Ojha. Naman had scored a century in 69 balls against Karnataka in 2015, while Patidar completed his century in just 68 balls. He hit 13 fours and 7 sixes in his stormy innings and scored 159 runs in total in 102 balls. During this, his strike rate was 155.88, which shows his aggression and skill.
The record for the fastest century in Ranji Trophy is in the name of Rishabh Pant, who scored a century in just 48 balls. In 1990, Shakti Singh of Himachal Pradesh scored a century off 45 balls against Haryana, but it was not considered official due to lack of documents.
