The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh passed 22 important proposals in the cabinet meeting. These include the proposal to remove GST and implement VAT on Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA), global promotion of Maha Kumbh 2025, solar energy projects, establishment of a university in every district, and expansion of Noida Metro. These decisions will promote the development and economic reforms of the state.

New policy on Extra Neutral Alcohol
The government has decided to bring Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) under VAT by taking it out of the purview of GST. This will reduce the cost of alcohol production and customers will get cheaper alcohol. Also, the 50% benefit received due to GST will now increase to 100%.
Maha Kumbh 2025: Global publicity
The cabinet approved the plan of road shows for the Maha Kumbh to be held in Prayagraj. Along with the metros of India, publicity will also be done in Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia and Mauritius. A budget of Rs 25-30 lakh has been fixed for the road show. Apart from this, the Home Department also gave the green signal to the proposal to purchase 220 new vehicles for the works of Maha Kumbh.

Solar energy project in Bundelkhand
The energy department has planned to generate more than 4000 MW of solar energy in Bundelkhand. An 800 MW power plant will be built in Chitrakoot at a cost of Rs 620 crore. This will be a part of the Green Energy Corridor, in which 33% of the funds will come from the central government, 20% from the state government, and 47% from the German financial institution KFW.
Major reforms in the education sector
A target has been set to open a university in every district. A proposal to convert 71 government colleges into government schools was passed. New posts will be created, which will include 71 principals, 1136 assistant professors, and class-3 and class-4 staff. Vivek Mahavidyalaya in Bijnor has been given the status of a private university.
Noida Metro Extension
The Aqua Line Metro in Noida will be extended by 17.435 km. The total cost of this project is Rs 2960 crore. The central and state governments will contribute Rs 394 crore.
